Meet-First-Lady

Lelia Hamlin Friend is the sixth of nine children born to the late Harvey and Elsie Hamlin in Chesterfield, Virginia. Being a true native, she was educated in and is presently employed by the Chesterfield County Public School System.

She is the proud mother of two, son: Ignatius Marcus Friend, daughter: Shannon Charity Friend-Griffin and the Grandmother of three: Ignatius II, Tyshawn and Jameson.

She’s not just our Pastor’s wife, she is a positive presence in our Church - She has taken on many roles in the Church that help promote the continuous spiritual growth of our Church. Above all, she is always there for our Pastor for Sunday School, Morning Worship Services, Bible Study and all of his other engagements. She loves God with all her heart and she serves beside her husband, our Pastor, with a willing spirit and a delightful heart. Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 37:4: "Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
